Dr. Derrick Eng is a board-certified physician who specializes in treating vein diseases. He serves at the Metro Vein Centers office in Nassau County, Long Island.
Dr. Eng earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Temple University and a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly University Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). As a resident at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York City, Dr. Eng developed an appreciation for point-of-care ultrasound. He is specifically passionate about ultrasound-guided venous access which has become the basis for procedures offered at the Metro Vein centers.
Dr. Eng’s Primary Care background has encouraged him to view every patient as a whole and to not assume the cause of leg pain as purely a venous issue. If a patient’s clinical picture is not suggestive of a venous disorder, he ensures that the patient is directed to the appropriate medical care. He values continuing education and implementing state-of-the-art evidence-based minimally invasive procedures to treat vein diseases.
Dr. Eng has treated many patients who have been suffering from venous insufficiency for years and unaware of it. It brings him great pleasure knowing that he can help alleviate their symptoms and improve their quality of life through office based procedures.
