Miguel Oquendo, MD, DABVLM, is a board-certified physician specializing in the treatment of venous disorders, including chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and spider veins in New York, NY. Dr. Oquendo has consistently provided expert medical care to every community he serves, no matter their circumstances. Dr. Oquendo obtained his medical degree at the University of Medical Sciences Carlos J. Finlay, Camagüey, Cuba in 2011. He then devoted his time post-grad to delivering hospital services to underserved communities, working primarily in the prevention of chronic diseases, emergency medicine, and pre/postnatal care. He has led multiple door-to-door vaccination distribution campaigns in Cuba and Venezuela, campaigning for the prevention of Dengue Fever.
Dr. Oquendo is passionate about continuing his education, staying up-to-date on the latest techniques in the treatment of advanced venous disorders to ensure he provides the best, evidence-based care for his patients. He has trained extensively in the treatment of venous insufficiency using state-of-the-art, minimally invasive technologies such as radiofrequency ablations, as well as ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, varithena, and venaseal.
His personal passions include writing poetry, playing classical guitar, and dancing. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
